Description
The Revestment Act, formally the Isle of Man Purchase Act 1765, transferred the feudal rights over the Isle of Man from the Dukes of Atholl to the British Crown in exchange for £70,000, thus integrating the island more closely into British governance.
The obverse features Queen Elizabeth II’s uncrowned bust facing right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, surrounded by the inscription: BICENTENARY OF THE REVESTMENT ACT · 1765 · 1965. The reverse displays the Isle of Man’s triskele (three-legged emblem) within a rope wreath, with the Latin motto “QUOCUNQUE JECERIS STABIT” This coin is made up of 22ct (o.916) gold and weighs 39.94g.
