The quarter sovereign is a British gold bullion and collector’s coin, issued by the Royal Mint since 2009. The smallest in the sovereign range. On the obverse is the Fourth crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, legend around. And on the reverse is St. George sitting on horseback, slaying a dragon right with a sword, broken lance on the ground, date and engraver’s initials in exergue. This coin is crafted from 22-carat gold (91.67% pure) and weighs 1.997g.
