Start with what you know
Not sure what type of coins you have?
You do not need to identify, clean or sort them before getting in touch. Keep any cases, certificates, receipts and notes with the coins; they can help us understand a collection.

How We Value Coins
A coin can be worth more than its metal – but not every coin is collectible
We first establish what the coin is, then consider the factors relevant to that item or collection.
- Precious-metal content
- Condition
- Rarity
- Date and mint
- Collectability
- Current demand
- Completeness of sets
- Relevant provenance
Collectible or metal value? Coins without additional collector demand may be valued for their gold or silver content. We distinguish this from a numismatic assessment rather than implying every old coin is rare.
Coin Collections
Sell a coin collection without guessing what matters
Collections may include albums, loose coins, coin sets, proofs, graded pieces, presentation cases and paperwork. Our numismatics team can provide a detailed quote based on metal content, condition, rarity, collectability and demand.
Keep matched sets together and do not clean the coins. Photograph the whole collection and any labels or certificates, then request an initial coin assessment.

How to Sell
Choose how to have your coins assessed
1
Get an initial coin assessment
Tell us what you have and upload clear photographs for an initial review by our coin-buying team.
2
Sell securely by post
Request a seller pack and keep coins protected in their existing holders, capsules or cases.
3
Visit our Birmingham showroom
Bring the coins and supporting paperwork for an in-person assessment in the Jewellery Quarter.
Clear guidance, careful handling
Keep coins in their existing capsules, slabs, albums or cases. Do not polish them: cleaning can affect collectability and condition.
