Description
The 100 Kurush coin was minted at the Istanbul Mint, one of the most historically significant mints in the Ottoman Empire. The Istanbul Mint, established in the 15th century, produced most of the empire’s coinage. The obverse features the Toughra beside flowers, above regnal year and wreath, and below stars, and the reverse features the stacked legend within a wreath. The 100 Kurush gold coin was minted as early as 1843 and was used until the end of the Ottoman Empire in 1923.
