Description
The 1/4 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic coin is a popular gold bullion coin first introduced in 1989 by the Austrian Mint. It features the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra on both sides, with the Musikverein concert hall on one side and various musical instruments on the other. The coin is known for its high purity (99.99% pure gold), weighing 7.77g, and is recognised as a legal tender coin with a face value of €25. Interesting Fact: The Austrian Philharmonic coin was voted the world’s best-selling coin by the World Gold Council in 1992, 1995, and 1996.
Both the obverse (front) and reverse (back) designs were created by engraver Thomas Pesendorfer. The obverse features the Great Organ in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein, while the reverse depicts a collection of instruments from the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra.
Our best value coins will be randomly selected from a variety of years. These coins will be sold based solely on their bullion value, rather than any collector value. Please note these are circulated coins and may show minor scratches, which do not affect their value as bullion.
