Description
A gold 50 kurush coin issued by Sultan Mehmed V of the Ottoman Empire during his reign (AH 1327-1336 / AD 1909-1918). These coins, often referred to as “mint visit” coins, were struck at various mints visited by the Sultan. Specifically, the 50 kurush gold coin minted during a visit to Manastir (AH 1327 year 3, corresponding to AD 1911/1912). Struck in .917 fine gold, the Turkish 50 Kurush Mehmed V Coin is not only a beautiful work of art but also a valuable store of wealth.
