The United Kingdom’s first £20 coin, this issue was released to celebrate the birth of HM the Queen’s First great-grandson, His Royal Highness Prince George Of Cambridge. The design uses Benedetto Pistrucci’s George & Dragon as introduced in 1816 on the Gold Sovereign. To highlight the coin to collectors, it’s struck twice to give a Brilliant Uncirculated finish and it’s issued in an attractive presentation pack from The Royal Mint. This coin is from a limited edition issue of 250,000 and makes the perfect gift idea for any UK coin collector.
This coin is made in 999.9% fine silver and has a gross weight of 15.71g. The obverse of this coin features the Fourth crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, legend around. Whilst the reverse features St George slaying the dragon right, date and engraver’s initials in exergue.
