Quarter Gold Sovereigns were introduced by the Royal Mint in January 2009 made up of 22ct (91.67% gold) containing 1.83g of pure gold. Most London made Sovereigns carry the reverse design of St George slaying the dragon designed by Benedetto Pistrucci, whilst come commemorative years feature different designs.
