The Falcon Of The Plantagenets is the sixth coin that was released in the Queen’s Beast series produced by the Royal Mint. The falcon and fetterlock emblem originated with Edward III, symbolising his passion for falconry, and was later adopted by his descendant, Edward IV, during the Wars of the Roses. Reverse: Crafted by Jody Clark, it depicts a falcon clutching a shield that bears a smaller white falcon and open fetterlock—signifying the Plantagenet dynasty’s assertive rule
