Description
The 2023 proof Krugerrand fractional set consists of 1/4oz, 1/10oz, 1/20oz and 1/50oz gold proof coins. Struck by the South African Mint, these coins are struck in 22-carat gold. The 1/20oz coin is a set exclusive coin. The set is presented in a wooden box including a numbered Certificate of Authenticity from the South African Mint. This fractional coin set has a very limited mintage of 100.
The obverse features the South African Republic’s first president from 1882 to 1902, Paul Kruger. The reverse of each coin features the legendary “Springbok”, the national animal of South Africa.
What distinguishes this edition is its proof finish, which is achieved through multiple strikes with hand-prepared dies. Proof coins exhibit an attractive high-contrast appearance and are minted in smaller quantities compared to their bullion counterparts.
