Released as part of special configurations—often associated with “The Changing Face of Britain” presentation sets—this coin marks the first year the Royal Mint issued a fractional one-fortieth ounce gold denomination. The obverse features the fourth definitive coinage portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. The initials IRB are visible under the neck truncation. Whilst the reverse features a unique profile interpretation of Britannia wearing a crested Corinthian-style helmet with a lion guarding at her feet, crafted by renowned engraver Jody Clark.
