Description
The pre-owned Sovereign coin has remained a symbol of consistency through changing times. It features a portrait of King Charles III, created by artist Martin Jennings, alongside Benedetto Pistrucci’s renowned engraving of Saint George and the Dragon. This 2026 edition is one of 20,000 coins minted, with a total weight of 7.98 grams and made of 99.99% pure silver. This is only the second year in the 1,100 Royal Mint history that a sovereign has been struck in fine silver.
On the obverse of the coin, you will fine the portrait of King Charles III left, legend around. Whilst the reverse bears St. George on horseback slaying the dragon right, date and designer’s initials in exergue.
What distinguishes this edition is its proof finish, which is achieved through multiple strikes with hand-prepared dies. Proof coins exhibit an attractive high-contrast appearance and are minted in smaller quantities compared to their bullion counterparts.
These proof coins are presented in a box and a certificate of authenticity.
